Perfection?
With the Illinois Fighting Illini one win away from an unblemished regular season, not surprisingly the word of the day is perfection. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the Illini are Shooting for perfection. The Pantagraph reports that Illinois seeks a perfect ending. The headline in the Chicago Sun-Times reads Illinois one away from perfect aim. The Chicago Tribune lists Highlights on the road to perfection.

Roger Powell finally bailed the Illini out after a four minute scoreless streak. We're not getting much dribble penetration. Great ball movement for an open three-pointer for Dee.

Brown and Powell are carrying the Illini early as the team is not shooting particularly well.. Defense is giving Ohio State a very hard time.

THAT WAS HUGE! Sullinger has a brain fart and takes the ball to the rim for a charge (close call that could have gone either way) and then Dee Brown feeds Luthe Head for a three-pointer to close the half with an 11 point lead. The Buckeyes could have cut it to five or six. You have to love the way this team MAKES plays.
Stat of the first half: turnovers and steals. With both teams shooting about 40% from the floor, the Illini are ahead because they've only turned the ball over two times to eight for the Buckeyes. Six of those Buckeye turnovers have been because of Illinois steals.
