Illinois' BIG recruitAccording to Mark Tupper, Illinois basketball recruit Brian Carwell has done some growing prior to his senior year in high school and is
on track to checking in at close to 7 feet when he arrives at Illinois. The article includes an update on the feet of James Augustine and Dee Brown.
Deron Williams signs, starts?Williams signed a contract with the Utah Jazz that is reportedly
$7 million for the first two years with
Utah holding options on years three and four. Also, the Jazz are apparently going to put him
into the starting lineup.
Weber sticks around
Illinois basketball came to terms with coach Bruce Weber on a
two-year contract extension for Weber that increases his pay to $700,000 per season. Learning from their last two coaches, Illinois
will make payments into an annuity that will pay Weber $1.1 million if he is the Illini coach on April 30, 2011. Weber will be
signing books today in Peoria.
