Changing of the Guards
It's no secret that the biggest challenge facing the Fighting Illini basketball team this season will be replacing two All-American guards that were selected in the first round of the 2oo5 NBA Draft. Mark Tupper recently wrote profiles of the two leading candidates to take their spots and join Dee Brown in the starting rotation: Rich McBride and Calvin Brock. No one is expecting them to maintain the level of play we saw from Luther Head and Deron Williams, but their contributions are needed for the Illini to have a shot at a third straight Big Ten title.
