They can't be much worse than Missouri
Having handily dispatched Missouri, the Illinois Fighting Illini will now play a Missouri with, not one collegiate hyphen, but two: Southeast Missouri State. If there were any justice in college basketball, they would take into account the fact that you just beat the main university by 32 points and, out of mercy, cancel the game against someone with a "Southeast" prefix and a "State" suffix.

But, play we must. And so, the Illini will face the RPI 294 Redhawks (4-6) on Wednesday night. Their coach, Gary Garner, said "It's a huge challenge for us, to say the least" as they prepare to face the highest-ranked Division I opponent in the program's history. In a statement reeking of bulletin-board material, Illinois coach Bruce Weber said "our challenge isn't the opponents. It's ourselves and continuing to improve." Apparently Weber primarily wants to use the game to get more touches for the big guys.

Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. CST. Click here for Gametracker. To listen to a live broadcast on K103 of Cape Girardeau, click here.
